If You Scored 90-99%
On the Gospel IQ Quiz
Well done brother or sister in Christ! You are doing pretty good in “rightly dividing” the Word of Truth, but caution is definitely required.
First, you are to be commended for spending the time to take the quiz. Many come to the site but very few bother to take the time to examine their beliefs. Also, the quiz wasn’t designed to test/check every aspect of the gospel message, it was designed to help reveal if you have been tricked some of the many (many) false teachings of man, so you can realize that is the case if so, and return to the pure gospel message of truth that was handed down once for all time in Scripture. Also, truth be told, if I took this same quiz a few years back, I would have scored very poorly…it was only through three years of study and examining my beliefs that I was able to exterminate all the false teachings I had succumbed to. It was not easy and I had to really want to seek and know truth. You may find yourself in that same situation right now. I encourage you to press on and seek truth. I help explain the gospel he’s safe from start to finish, Genesis to a revelation here 👉 http://thetruth.bible
Depending on which questions you got wrong, the errors may or may not be serious (some questions have more serious consequences than others if you get them wrong). I do however recommend that you give your faith a tune-up and re-examine any areas that you answered incorrectly. Since you didn’t score 100% (yes, that’s possible), what do you do now? You have basically three options:
- You can ignore the areas you got wrong and think that you have doctrine “good enough,”
- You can believe that I’m wrong on the questions that you missed, or
- You can now go back and re-examine any area of concern against the truth of what is actually written in Scripture by studying the Word of God anew.
I hope and pray that you will choose option #3. Please realize that it often only takes a little error to creep in, and before long, more error creeps in after it, and before you even realize it, you’ve wandered very far from strait and narrow path of truth (and you may not even realize it). Also know that where you find one false teaching, you will almost always find others, for they travel in packs. I want to offer a few verses for your consideration:
Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. – Proverbs 27:6
So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? – Galatians 4:16
“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?” – Isaiah 53:1 (KJV)
Please also realize that I have a duty to warn, admonish and also correct you:
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled [itching ears], they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. – 2 Timothy 4:1-4
I encourage you to continue to seek truth, but sadly, it is my experience that 999 out of 1,000 professing Christians prefer to keep their false teachings. I will share with you that not even one single solitary “Christian” who I have tried to help correct their errant beliefs has listened to me – no, not even one (if you are the first, please do let me know)! Will you be the 1 who examines to see if you have had “itching ears” and “turned aside to myths (false teachings)” of man, or will you be like the 999?
Know that it’s simply pride which prevents most people (including professing Christians) from stopping and taking a moment to re-examine their core beliefs. But this should not be. We have the splendid example of Apollos set before us:
Now a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures. This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John; and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. And when he wanted to go across to Achaia, the brethren encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace, for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ. – Acts 18:24-28
Note that even though Apollos was very well versed (mighty) in the Scriptures up through John’s baptism and he spoke out boldly – he was teaching wrongly. But the important part is this: he humbly accepted (and embraced) correction from Priscilla and Aquila who gave him a greater revelation of truth, and then he continued on again to be a great warrior for Chris, now with a greater understanding of truth! What a wonderful example of humility and willingness to continue learning truth and “growing in the grace and understanding” of the Lord – a process which ideally continues all our life. So please, don’t let pride stand in the way of coming to a better understanding of the truth and correcting any false teachings that may be present. Remember, it was pride that led to the entire downfall of humanity in the Garden of Eden. It was pride which led Satan to rebel against God. Pride is your enemy, even as a Christian!
We also have the example of Cain set before us in Genesis, for although he knew how God instructed people as to how He was to be worshipped (Hebrews 11:4), Cain chose his own way to worship the Lord. Yes, Cain made up his own rules for worshiping God, and God called him on it. What happened: Cain got mad. The exact same thing happens when you show Christians that their beliefs are not in agreement with Scripture. Cain is in hell.
Please know that I also had to come out of darkness myself (the false teachings of man, committees and institutions) and into the light – so I have been where you are personally. I had actually fallen for so many of the false teachings of man, committees and institutions that it was embarrassing! I also used to believe many of the false teachings which are absolutely rampant today and taught, preached and shouted far and wide from nearly every denomination, church, cult, pulpit, book, movie and even seminary schools. But I continued to earnestly seek and pray for truth. I was led out of the false teachings, but it took nearly 3 years of continued daily study and reading. That is also why I have written a book The Message of Truth to help others also learn the correct gospel – maybe you should get a copy? The book content is also available for free here: https://thetruth.bible.
I pray that the Lord of heaven and earth and His Son Christ Jesus will lead you into all truth, as we await the return of Jesus with all His holy angels in “skies of flaming fire.” God bless!
